Royal Cambrian Academy Winter Show until 23rd Dec 2024
As a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy (RCA) I am exhibiting two paintings in the Winter Show. The RCA began with a group of artists inspired by the dramatic landscapes of North Wales in the late 19th century, who established themselves in the Conwy Valley and formed the Cambrian Academy of Art in 1881. Queen Victoria's royal patronage in 1882 cemented the Academy's role in promoting Welsh artistic excellence. The paintings I have on show have been inspired by the Greek rather than the Welsh landscape "Skala Eresou Beach" and "Eresos Hill Chapel", both painting in egg tempera on gesso board.
